AMAZON CONNECTIONG EXPERIENCE 7D/6N


Discover the Amazon rainforest in a simple, pure, and authentic way. far from the traditional routes, enjoy: observing Amazonian flora and fauna, meeting the native people of the region, fishing for Amazonian fish, observing caimans, sloths, and Amazonian dolphins, paddle-canoeing, camping in the jungle, day and night excursions with a local guide, born in the jungle.
Come and experience this true adventure and a personal experience in an authentic and safe way.

 

Day 1: Manaus - Ariaú River and Activities


Pickup from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. and transfer to the Ariaú River by car (air-conditioned van). Upon arrival at the Ariaú River, we will board our motorized canoe. We will navigate downriver, enjoying the flora and fauna. Our first stop will be the island of the monkeys. We will stop to photograph the monkeys and receive a guide's explanation about the fauna.
Next, we'll continue by motorized canoe, exploring lakes and flooded rainforest with a great chance of spotting iguanas and sloths. Our next stop will be an indigenous village, where we'll visit the tribe and learn about their culture.
Time to explore their homes, take photos, and learn about them. After visiting the tribe, our next destination will be Dolphin Beach. Time to swim in the warm waters of the river. Swim with the dolphins and have lunch outdoors on the beach.
After lunch, we'll board our canoe and return to where we left our vehicle. Before reaching the road, we'll stop to observe the Queen of the Jungle (Samaumeira), the mother of trees, the largest tree species in the Amazon rainforest.


After completing our visit to the queen of the jungle, we return to the van.Transfer to the boat wich is waiting for us on the Amazon River. Board, and begin our journey up the Amazon River, heading for the Piranha Reserve. We arrive at the reserve at night time. There will be no activities tonight, but during dinner we will be observe the stars and listening to the sounds of nature.
 

Day 2: Piranha Reserve - Activities


Wake up in the morning with the sounds of animal to begin a new day filled with activities. Breakfast.
After breakfast, depart by canoe to explore the flooded rainforest (each day we will explore a different part of the reserve) and observe the wildlife. Return to the native house for lunch.
After lunch, visit to the community that thrives on artisanal fishing. Upon arrival at the flooded village, we'll board our canoe to watch the sunset and enjoy the local wildlife. We'll return to the native house at the end of the day at sunset time. 
Dinner. After dinner, today we will go on a nighttime alligator-watching excursion. The guide will use a powerful flashlight to locate the animal and capture (if guests wish) a small alligator to safely show the participants. We will return the animal to its natural habitat. Return to our home.

 

Day 3: Piranha Reserve - Activities


Departure by canoe at 5:00 a.m. to observe the sunrise and the awakening of the jungle (monkeys, parrots, toucans, macaws, herons, and birds in general). Return for breakfast. After breakfast, depart by canoe to fish for Amazonian piranhas and other types of fish. the fish we caught, we will have a barbecue in the flooded jungle to grill the fish.
The fire will be built on the water surface (I don't think you've ever seen anything like this, a barbecue on the water surface). While we prepare lunch, participants can relax in their hammocks, which will be placed between the trees and over the water. It's an experience that just a few have the opportunity to have.
After the barbecue experience in the flooded rainforest and a Brazilian hammock over the water, it's time to continue exploring the flooded rainforest in search of animal and water lily spots. We return to our home (native house) during the amazonian sunset. We'll prepare a delicious Amazonian caipirinha to enjoy with dinner.

 

Day 4: Manacapuru River - Jungle


Breakfast and start the cruise to the Manacapuru River (flora area). It will take about 3 hours to travel from the reserve to the Manacapuru River, enjoying the landscapes that slowly change the color, smell, and sound. We will arrive at the Apurianã family, an indigenous village of about 13 families.
Here we will spend the night and visit the village to learn about their culture, language, and way of life.

 

Day 5: Manacapuru River - Activities


Breakfast, then departure for a jungle hike, accompanied by one member of the Aripuanã family. During the jungle hike, 3 to 4 hours hike, (round trip), the guide will explain the Amazonian flora and plants that the indigenous people use as medicine or as poison to kill the animals they hunt. Return to the village for lunch.
In the afternoon, if the weather is good, we'll prepare to go jungle for camping. Each participant will bring their own hammock with mosquito net. We will make a small cover with palm leaves or banana leaves to protect us in case it rains. 
We'll have a campfire, a barbecue,  fish, meat, or chicken barbecue. If guests wish, we can take a short hike in the jungle at night, with possibility of seeing animals and insects, spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, toads, snakes.

 

Day 6: Upstream Manacapuru River - Activities


Wake up in the jungle with the sounds of animal. Time to prepare our gear and return to the village for breakfast.
After breakfast, we'll head upriver to explore other areas, take more jungle hikes, fish, and visit cassava plantations, where the natives make cassava flour, their staple food.

 

Day 7: Manaus


Breakfast on the boat. Departure to fish for the largest fish in the Amazonian rivers, the pirarucu. It can grow up to 2.80 m long and weigh up to 300 kg. After this activity, it's time to begin our return cruise, passing through the confluence of the rivers. Lunch during the cruise. Arrival at the port of Manacapuru, boarding our vehicle, and transfer to Manaus. Estimated time of arrival in Manaus is around 5:30 p.m.
Package and value includes: Full board: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, mineral water, juice, fruits, guide, transfers (from the airport, round trip), accommodation in hammocks.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION


Amazon Rainforest Hiking Levels

 

Level: Medium.
Hiking in the rainforest doesn't require you to be 100% physically fit to venture into it; you just need to be physically and mentally healthy.
Most of the Amazon rainforest is flat and level.


WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING TO YOUR AMAZON CONNECTION EXPERIENCE?
 

You must bring the following items to the Amazon Connection experience:

- Protective waterproof bag for personal items and/or equipment
- Water bottle to charge and refill during the experience
- Portable charger for cameras and/or cell phones

- Comfortable, quick-drying pants and shorts
- Long- and short-sleeved shirts
- Socks
- Swimsuit
- Hiking boots or sneakers
- Sandals to wear during canoe trips
- Towel

 

WHERE TO STAY DURING THE AMAZONIAN CONNECTIONS

 

- We use jungle camps and native house people who live along the riverbanks.
- We use comfortable hammocks (4m wide by 2m long) and/or tents.

 

WHAT KIND OF FOOD DO WE EAT AT THE AMAZON CONNECTIONS?

 

- We use the services of the natives to help us with food, to cook when we stay in their homes, but we bring the food ourselves. This way, we will be financially helping the natives.
- We offer fruits, salads, abundant fish, chicken, and meat during the first few days.

 

Note: If there is a vegetarian in the group, please keep us informed so we can arrange for food.
